2011 Presentation Calendar Design

I am really into wall calendars! This year, I couldn’t find anything I liked so I decided to design my own. The theme? “Presentations”, of course.

I developed the concept and designed all graphic elements from scratch using Adobe Illustrator. It took me three full days of work to finish this calendar, probably because I was hand-drawing with the mouse!! I do not have a designer tablet and my current hand-drawing gadget (iPad + SketchBook Pro App + Pogo Sketch Pen) is not compatible with Illustrator. Lesson learned: “buy a tablet, you deserve it!”

Anyway, I am very happy with the results of this design. This project served as a huge exercise for my creativity, a training for my design and Illustrator skills, and also a demo of what my presentation design style will be from now on: innovation by creating my own graphic content from scratch.

You can see the entire calendar on my website: 2011 Presentation Calendar.

Guy Kawasaki featured this design on Holy Kaw!, and after only two days of being posted, my calendar has had more than 15 thousand views both on Holy Kaw! and my website. Talk about creating good content to attract traffic!! ;)

PS.: Big thanks to all who tweeted, re-tweeted, and blogged about my Calendar.
